Effective October 6, 2025, the unionized staff of the Community Care and Assisting Living Appeal Board (the “Board”) ceased work because of strikes called by their unions.
Management who are not unionized remain in place to continue the work of the Board. Notices of Appeal will continue to be processed to ensure that no parties are prejudiced by any disruption of the filing of appeals. Communications will be monitored for urgent matters. Beyond that, the focus of work will be on matters most immediately impacted by the work stoppage.
There are likely to be delays in correspondence from the Board and in all procedural steps. Those filing appeals or with existing appeals should advise the Board if there is anything requiring a urgent reply. Otherwise, the patience of all parties will be appreciated as remaining, non-unionized staff do their best to triage the business of the Board and to manage the situation as appropriate.
When contacting the Board, do not contact staff directly: write to info@bcccalab.ca.
